The City of Marble Falls will host a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station No. 2 on Thursday, March 19 at 9:00 a.m. at 1500 Flatrock Boulevard. City officials, staff, and project partners will gather on site to mark the beginning of construction on the new public safety facility.
Fire Station No. 2 will be an 8,526-square-foot facility featuring seven bedrooms and three apparatus bays. The new station is being constructed to improve response times and service availability for Marble Falls Fire Rescue, particularly as call volume continues to increase in the southern portion of the Marble Falls area.
The facility is designed to meet current operational needs while planning for future growth. Long-term plans include housing Marble Falls Area EMS personnel at the station, further strengthening coordinated emergency response. The building will also include a satellite office for the Marble Falls Police Department to enhance interdepartmental collaboration and presence in the area.
"This new station is a major step forward for public safety in Marble Falls and a proud moment for our department and community," said Marble Falls Fire Rescue Chief Thomas Crane. "It will allow our teams to respond more quickly, work more efficiently, and provide an even higher level of service to the residents and visitors in this part of our community. We’re proud to see this project move forward and look forward to the day we can open the doors and better serve our citizens."
Construction is expected to be completed in early Summer 2027.
