This month, our City Spotlight highlights the Marble Falls Fire Department and the City’s Emergency Management Coordinator, a team committed to providing public safety and dependable service to our community.

The department is currently based out of Fire Station 1 and responds to fire and medical emergencies throughout Marble Falls, with Fire Station 2 currently under construction to enhance service coverage, with all firefighters certified at the EMT Basic level or higher. Staffed by 21 personnel serving as Firefighters, Driver/Engineers, Shift Captains, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal, Fire Chief, and Emergency Management Coordinator. The team operates two engines, a ladder truck, a brush truck, a squad vehicle, a utility vehicle, and two command vehicles to respond to a wide range of incidents.

When not responding to calls, firefighters focus on continuous training, hydrant inspections, equipment maintenance, and physical conditioning. Their training includes wildland firefighting, live fire exercises, confined space and high-angle rescue, vehicle extrication, swift water rescue, medical training, and annual driver certification to operate fire apparatus. This ongoing preparation ensures the department is ready to respond safely and effectively in any situation.

Beyond emergency response, the department emphasizes prevention through public education at schools, nursing homes, and community events, and remains available year-round to answer safety questions. The Emergency Management Coordinator works behind the scenes to prepare Marble Falls for natural and man-made disasters by conducting training, coordinating with regional and state agencies, and strengthening preparedness efforts across the City.

As Marble Falls grows, the department continues to expand staffing, equipment, and facilities to meet increasing service demands. Professionalism, integrity, and teamwork define the Marble Falls Fire Department, and we thank them for their dedication to protecting and serving our community every day.
