[ARCHIVED] July 4th Parade Cancelled

The City of Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department regrets to announce the cancellation of this year's 4th of July parade due to insufficient entries. Initially scheduled for the morning of Thursday, July 4, the parade was geared to celebrate Independence Day in the Marble Falls community.

Despite concerted efforts to encourage participation and celebrate our nation's independence in grand style, the department received fewer entries than anticipated. This unfortunate circumstance has left organizers with no choice but to cancel the event.

The committee extends its sincere gratitude to all individuals and organizations who expressed interest in participating in this year's parade and made efforts to participate. Plans are underway to ensure that next year's celebration will be bigger and better.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue to come out to the City's 4th of July Fireworks and Celebration at Lakeside Park, 305 Buena Vista Drive, where residents and guests can partake in a free swim day at Lakeside Pool from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, enjoy food and beverages from food vendors, listen to live music from Dysfunkshun Junkshun and watch fireworks from beautiful Lake Marble Falls.

For more information contact the Parks and Recreation Department at pard@marblefallstx.gov or (830) 798-6250.
