The City of Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department will host an Arbor Day Celebration on Wednesday, November 10 at 9:00 am at The Greens Soccer Complex, 1100 Sixth Street.

Arbor Day is a national holiday created to recognize the importance of trees and celebrate nature. In 1972, Former President Richard Nixon declared National Arbor Day to be celebrated on the last Friday in April. However, some states have designated a different time of year to ensure that the tress are planted in the best environment to thrive.

Mayor Westerman will be in attendance and reading a proclamation recognizing Arbor Day in the City of Marble Falls.   The reading of the proclamation will be followed by the planting of several trees in The Greens Soccer Complex. The public is encouraged to attend.

For more information, please call the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 798-6250.
