[ARCHIVED] Governor Abbott Issues Executive Order GA-14

Governor Abbot issued Executive Ordr GA-14 on March 31, 2020 which will take effect at 12:01 am on April 2, 2020.

The Governor’s Order does not have significant differences from the County’s Order.  The Order does allow for religious services of ten or less people as long as Social Distancing protocols are followed.  The Governor’s Order does not have the occupancy requirement for businesses that the County Order had.

In order to avoid confusion in our community and to be consistent with the Governor’s Order, the Burnet County Order to ‘Stay in Place and Stay Safe’ that was issued on March 25, 2020 has been rescinded by Burnet County Judge James Oakley.

Effective 12:01 am on April 2, 2020 the Burnet County community is asked to follow the Governor’s Order.

A list of Essential Businesses that may remain open are listed in the Order and available at:  https://tdem.texas.gov/essentialservices/

Questions related to what meets the qualifications of Essential Services may be directed to the Office of the Governor at 512-463-1782.

Residents are encouraged to not leave home unless they are going to work at an “Essential Business” or are accessing or attending essential services.  When out in the public Social Distancing protocols should be followed at all times.
