[ARCHIVED] Film Friendly Community Certification

Demolishing a bridge

The City of Marble Falls has gained recognition as a Certified Film Friendly Community by the Texas Film Commission (TFC). The Texas Film Commission is a division of the Governor’s Office.

The Film Friendly Texas program provides an opportunity for communities to market and promote their locations more predominantly within the film industry by partnering with the TFC. The certification will bring awareness to the unique film locations within the community of Marble Falls and make way for an opportunity that benefits the local economy.

In order to gain certification, communities must develop a film policy and have it approved by the TFC, attend a workshop to learn about the production process and best practices for working with the film industry, and submit location photos to be used in the state’s online location database. Marble Falls met all of these guidelines and will formally be presented the certification an upcoming City Council Meeting.

We are very interested in building the City’s portfolio with the Texas Film Commission and would love to photograph more locations. Especially many of the beautiful historic homes in Marble Falls, schools, and any farms or ranches. If you have a property that you would like to submit as a potential location, please email Lisa Ward.

“We are excited about the door this will open to the film industry bringing additional economic activity and art culture into the community,” Caleb Kraenzel, Assistant City Manager.
