This month, our City Spotlight series continues, giving residents an inside look at the departments that keep Marble Falls running. Each month, we highlight a
department, sharing what they do, the services they provide, and how they help make our city a great place to live. For November, we’re shining the spotlight on a department whose work supports every corner of our organization: the Human Resources Department.
The Human Resources Department is dedicated to supporting the City’s greatest asset, its employees. HR not only manages hiring and onboarding, but they also shape the full employee experience by ensuring the City attracts, develops, and retains high-quality talent committed to public service. Their focus is also on organizational culture, coordinating benefits and professional development opportunities, such as the Emerging Leaders in Training for Excellence (E.L.I.T.E.) program and Supervisory Training and Effective Practices (S.T.E.P.).
HR serves as a strategic partner to every City department, aligning people, processes, and organizational goals to help Marble Falls be successful. They champion workplace culture and employee wellness with events such as the annual blood drive, the Health Fair Open Enrollment and the City’s annual awards program, where outstanding employees are recognized with honors such as Employee of the Year, fostering a positive environment where staff can grow and thrive.
This year, the City of Marble Falls earned recognition through the We Hire Vets Recognition Program by the Texas Workforce Commission as part of their Welcome Home initiative. To qualify, organizations must have at least 10% of their workforce made up of veterans. This recognition highlights the City’s commitment to honoring and supporting those who have served our country by welcoming them into our workforce.
Through strategic planning, continuous improvement, and a commitment to supporting employees at every stage in their careers, the Human Resources Department continues to be a cornerstone of the City’s success. Their work strengthens our organization, advances our mission, and ensures we are ready to serve Marble Falls with purpose.
