The City of Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Department will host a Texas Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, November 7, at 9:00 a.m. in Johnson Park.
The event highlights the importance of trees and the many benefits they provide, including cleaner air and water, improved health, and lower energy costs. Residents are encouraged to participate by planting native trees that reflect the Hill Country’s natural beauty.
Mayor Packer will read the official City of Marble Falls Arbor Day proclamation, followed by the planting of Texas native Bald Cypress trees along the banks of Backbone Creek in Johnson Park.
“Texas Arbor Day is about more than planting trees — it’s about investing in the future of our community and the environment we all share,” said Marble Falls Parks and Recreation Director Lacey Dingman. “As the old adage goes, the best time to plant a tree was yesterday — the next best time is today. We’re proud to bring residents together to celebrate the natural beauty that makes Marble Falls such a special place to live.”
