The City of Marble Falls seeks public feedback as it reviews and updates its comprehensive plan. The plan will guide the growth and development of Marble Falls in a manner that reflects the community's vision of what the quality of life will mean for future generations in Marble Falls.
The Comprehensive Plan addresses key planning and policy actions such as traffic management, future development, housing, parks, trails, and infrastructure.
A Community Open House will be held on Tuesday, May 9, from 6 pm – 8 pm at the Lakeside Pavilion, 307 Buena Vista, Marble Falls. An online survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MarbleFalls2023, where stakeholders can offer their vision for the City.
"Community input drives the overall development of the Comprehensive Plan and is vital to the plan's success," said Director of Development Services Kim Foutz. "This is a chance for the community to share their values, vision, and hopes for the future of the City of Marble Falls."
The Community Open House and survey are great opportunities for the public to engage in the planning process.
In addition to gathering public input on the Comprehensive Plan, feedback on the City's Hazard Mitigation Action Plan is also encouraged. Public input will help the Local Planning Teams to identify and analyze potential hazards affecting residents and recommend possible actions to reduce their impact throughout the Marble Falls planning area.
The City's consultant Gabe Rojas will be present to answer questions.
Under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires communities to develop a mitigation plan to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from known hazards. Communities with a FEMA-approved plan are eligible for specific grant funding under the Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Program.
