On March 31, 2020, Governor Abbott issued an Executive Order relating to Statewide Continuity of Essential Services and Activities.
The Order took effect at 12:01 am April 2, 2020 and continues through April 30, 2020, subject to extension thereafter based on the status of COVID-19 in Texas and the recommendation of the CDC. Schools will stay closed to in-person classroom attendance until May 4, 2020.
This Order requires nonessential businesses to close temporarily. Essential businesses are defined in the Order and described in the attached fact sheet. Any business not listed in the Order as essential must close to the public. Burnet County residents working for a nonessential business are required to stay home and not travel to their place of employment.
The intent of this Order is to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
