[ARCHIVED] Rabies Notice

The City of Marble Falls and Marble Falls Animal Services are asking the community to take precautions with wildlife after a female was bitten by a rabid fox.

On Tuesday a Marble Falls resident went outside to find her puppy being attacked by a fox.  She grabbed the puppy and the fox chased her into her residence after biting her multiple times.

The fox was killed and tested positive for rabies.

Animal Services is asking the public to be alert around any wildlife such as raccoons, skunks, coyotes, foxes and bats.

Please do not feed or attract wildlife to your property and make sure all of your pets are up to date on their vaccinations.

If someone comes into contact with a wild animal, please call the Marble Falls Police Department immediately at 830-693-3611.  If bitten, the victim should also contact a physician immediately.
