City of Marble Falls to Implement Stage 3 Drought Restrictions

Stage 3 Water Restrictions

Due to extremely hot temperatures, severe drought conditions and lowering lake levels the City of Marble Falls will implement Stage 3 Restrictions of the City’s Drought Contingency Plan on Thursday, August 3.

The Stage 3 restrictions aim to reduce the city’s water use by 20 percent. The restrictions apply to all City of Marble Falls water customers, both inside and outside the city limit.  Residents are asked to take additional steps to conserve water as the City enters Stage 3 of its Drought Contingency Plan.

Stage 3 implements mandatory watering restrictions.   Irrigation of landscaped areas utilizing spray irrigation which includes hose-end sprinklers, soaker hoses and automatic irrigation systems shall be limited to ONCE weekly watering schedule.

Outdoor watering hours for spray irrigation will be permitted from Midnight to 10 am and 7 pm to Midnight on designated days.    This prohibition does not apply to irrigation of landscaped areas if it is by means of a hand-held hose with a positive shut-off device, drip irrigation systems or a faucet-filled bucket or watering can of five (5) gallons or less.

Watering Schedule:

    • Residential odd-numbered addresses:  Tuesday
    • Residential even-numbered addresses: Thursday
    • Commercial even-numbered addresses:  Monday
    • Commercial odd-numbered addresses:  Friday
    • Public Schools:   Wednesday
