First Annual Citizens Fire Academy Begins June 5

Have you ever driven by a fire station and wondered what it would be like to be a firefighter?

Marble Falls Fire Rescue will be holding their First Annual Citizens Fire Academy in June.  The academy is designed for citizens to become better educated and more familiar with their local fire service. Please note that this is not a fire certification class.

This exciting program will allow participants to see first-hand what it takes to become a firefighter, including use of all the equipment necessary to do the job. The participants will learn the history of the fire service and where fire codes originated.  They will wear the same protective gear as the firefighters, operate the fire apparatus, use the tools and equipment firefighters use on a daily basis, and much more.

Classes will be held every Wednesday in June from 6pm until 9pm.  Classes begin June 5 and end on June 29.   The last class will be held from 8am until 2pm.  The academy will be limited to the first 20 applicants.

You must be 18 years of age or older to apply for the academy.  Interested individuals may fill out on application by visiting the City of Marble Falls Fire Department web page at or by calling Marble Falls Fire Rescue at 830-693-4060.

We hope to see you there!
