Zoning Board of Adjustment

Overview

The Zoning Board of Adjustment considers requests for variances.  The board may not grant a zoning variance authoring a use other than those permitted in the district for which the zoning variance is sought.  Each case before the board must be heard by at least 75 percent of the members or a minimum of four (4) members of the board.

Members

The Zoning Board of Adjustment consists of five (5) residents of the City.  In addition, City Council may appoint two (2) additional residents to serve as alternate members of the board in the event that a regular member of the board is unable to attend a meeting of the board. Alternate members shall serve whenever one or more regular members are absent or are unable to serve and when requested by the Mayor or City Manager.  Members serve a four-year term.
