Expanded Recycling Services Begin October 2

The Marble Falls City Council approved a contract amendment and extension with Republic Services for solid waste and recycling collection in June.

Some of the highlights of the amendment are expanded recycling services, including the recycling of glass, larger recycling containers and commercial recycling services.

Single stream recycling services (customers do not have to separate their recycled items) will begin on October 2.  Materials accepted are:  newspapers, aluminum cans, steel/tin cans, plastic beverage containers and glass. Republic Services will begin delivering new 95 gallon recycling containers the week of September 25 to all residential customers.  Recycling pickup will be every other week beginning October 2.

Residential customers may keep the blue 18 gallon recycling bins for personal use.  Do not place the bin on the curbside if you wish to keep the bin.  However, if you do not wish to keep the 18 gallon bins please place on the curbside for pickup by Republic Services.

Please remember to place your recycling and regular trash containers within three feet of the curb and five feet away from mailboxes, vehicles, fire hydrants, overhead wires and low-hanging tree limbs before 7:00 am on your trash pick-up day.

Commercial customers who are interested in participating in recycling services may contact Republic Services at (830) 693-2208.

If you are a residential customer and have questions you may contact City Hall at (830) 693-3615 or Republic Services at (830) 693-2208.
